1. Introduction
Welcome to The Warmaster’s Gambit, a 2,000-point Horus Heresy 3.0 tournament hosted by Red October Games on Saturday, 16th August 2025. This one-day event features three competitive games set during the brutal Age of Darkness.

3. Player Cap
The event will accommodate up to 20 players. We may increase capacity based on demand—check our social media for updates.
4. Army Composition
Armies must be 2,000 points and follow the Force Organisation Chart outlined in the latest Horus Heresy 3.0 rules.
Rites of War, allies, and named characters are allowed unless specified otherwise in mission briefings.
Primarchs are not permitted at this event.
Bring a printed or digital copy of your list. Opponents and TOs may request to view it.
Lists that do not meet requirements will be reviewed case-by-case by the TOs.
5. Tournament Format
Round 1 pairings will be random.
Pairings and scoring will be managed via the Best Coast Pairings (BCP) app.
If matched with a previous opponent, notify a TO for adjustment.
In the event of a tie, results may be influenced by sportsmanship and painting votes.
6. Terrain
All terrain will be pre-set. Do not move pieces unless both players agree.
Clarify terrain rules before starting. TOs are available to assist.
7. Painting & Modelling
Fully painted armies are encouraged but not required.
Conversions, kitbashes, and third-party models are welcome, but must clearly represent the intended unit.
No proxies (e.g., a Tactical Marine cannot stand in for a Terminator).
All models must be on appropriate round/oval bases.
Best Painted Army:
Display your army during lunch with your name visible.
Players will vote for 1st and 2nd place. Winner announced at awards.

9. Scoring & Prizes
Results tracked via BCP.
Prizes:
1st Place: £30 minimum store credit (may increase with turnout)
2nd & 3rd Place: Additional store credit

10. Voting & Awards
Most Sporting Player:
Vote for one opponent after your games.
Submit your vote to a TO before awards.
Best Painted:
Voting during lunch break.
Display your army with your name clearly marked.
11. Missions
Missions will be drawn from the Age of Darkness Core Rulebook or custom event missions.
Final mission pack released by 14th August 2025.
All games played on 6' x 4' tables.
12. Game Timing
Each round lasts 2 hours and 30 minutes.
Games must stop at time +5 minutes. Score based on the last full game turn.
Do not begin a new turn unless it can be completed.
TOs will review time-wasting claims; their decisions are final.
13. Sportsmanship & Conduct
TO decisions are final.
Good sportsmanship is expected.
Disruptive behaviour (bullying, yelling, etc.) will lead to removal without refund.
Respectful banter is fine—keep it civil.
Attendance implies agreement to these rules.
